Howick Military Tattoo 2014. Me in a bit of a military custom. The day started out beautiful, but early afternoon the winds picked up and I noticed the clouds moving fast. Big winds coming. People thought I was mad packing up early. I was just pulling down the gazebo when the strong winds hit. Six bystanders helped hold our gazebo as I got it down and even then we got dragged side ways a bit. The weighted down gazebos were ripping and the unweighted ones were poof and they flew quite a distance. The red gazebo next to us, centre of picture, decided to have 3 family members hold the corners while mum kept trading. The wind shredded their roof and I don't think they made enough to pay for the gazebo.
2013, about 4 or 5 new markets in Auckland fell over. The organisers easy spend $40 k on resource consent and spend next to nothing on advertising. No crowds, stall holders don.t make a profit and stop coming and then you have no market.
Mangere 2014. We got put next to a building and up stairs is a security company. So I knocked on their door with camera in hand and asked if I could take a photo from their up stairs window.
